GSO Invited to Supplier Diversity Celebration Breakfast by California American Water

This morning at the California American Water's Rosemead Yard, employees and representatives gathered to celebrate a milestone acheivement.  California American Water is the first regulated water utility to surpass the 21.5 percent supplier diversity goal established by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).  Spending more than 26 percent with women, minority and disabled veteran business enterprises throughout the state in 2010.  "This number represents more than $17 million in business to women, minority and disabled veteran business enterprises" read a press release dated 16 February.  The company also drew praise from the CPUC Commissioner Timothy Alan Simon who congratulated them on this noteable acheivement.  GSO Partner Josh Evans who attended the breakfast on behalf of the company commented "It is a real testament to the efforts of so many within California American Water and we are very happy for them.  With folks like Deanna Vanwey, Holley Joy, Ed Simon, Garry Hofer and  Louie Romero on the team, I think they are setting the bar very high for other water utilities".  GSO completed a number of safety and security projects during 2010 and looks forward to a continued wonderful relationship.
